35mm Soul
By Anthony Garcia
A photograph is an amazing thing. It can capture something in just the right light, capture beauty in its simplicity. It can also capture the awkward moment before poise kicks in. It is visual, as well as unexplainable. You can find hundreds and thousands of shots in one single subject. You can capture a soul with a 35mm lens.
Behind the camera, it is a very unique thing, the eye of a photographer. They find shapes and angles in everything we see in our daily lives. It’s entirely possible to get swallowed up by the photography bug.
You might find yourself selling your Playstation 2 for a brick of B&W to feed your 30 year old adjustable aperture Minolta. The same can be said about an artist. The paint under the nails, the sleepless nights, and the endless muses they find. Splats of ink on fresh canvas, morphed art on a computer, it’s a whole other world that’s indescribably intoxicating and amazing. The mind of an artist is a wonderful enigma in its own right. They don't think in line. It’s a double edged sword, their release and binding addiction.
