The Ones
by Abe Cevallos
Oh, when the sun lets out its rays
They will lead my heart to gold
Through all the desolate and grave
Through every shackle I’ve called home
A simple kid
A known lost love
A sinking ship that’s given up
An orphaned boy left out to rust
Until a stranger saves me
When I sleep I never dream
Cause only darkness comforts me
I wish a smile could intervene
Cause its my mind that I’m losing
I often stand out in the rain
A desperate attempt to feel anything
But in the end I just see
There is no stranger saving me
And to the ones that I once loved
I hope you burn to pointless dust
And finally speak with a smart tongue
Until the world loves no one
We may well be the ones
