The Darkness and the Light Aaron Pelletier This is not poetry or prose
This is a declaration
Towards all those that oppose
Our right to be free of thought
And free of mind

We are the observers of the darkness and the light
What we chose to do
In our given time
Only defines for us
The point of our lives

We did not choose to be here
To breathe the earthly virgin breath
So this can’t be held against us
In life or in death

I was standing on the sands of Venice
And I watched the sun go down
As I raised my arms to the sky, I fell
It was then I realized the truth
My truth of heaven and eell

We live it every day
We see the best of people, we see the worst
We see unconditional love and forgiveness
We see unprecedented hate and segregation

We live
We die
We leave with only our memories
We leave with the feeling
That we either did good for the people we loved
Or that we’ve wasted our time
Wasted our lives
It is on this feeling
This emotion
That we forever spend eternity
This is heaven and hell

Live has so much to offer
But you have to give on to get it

I don’t need an after-party
I am not a V.I.P
Just the time on this earth
Is gonna be good enough for me

No one has the answers
Only more questions
So simplify your life
Realize its significance

The darkness and the light
Continues on forever in time
People will come and people will go
What will you have in the end to show?
